Journaling

Store brand batteries?

Hannah has a flair for the dramatic
in case you didn't know.

And
she hates getting into the bath
in case you didn't know that either.

Once she is there,
she's OK.

But getting there...
she stalls,
she cries,
she runs away
(naked, with her cute little hiney-bo needing to be pinched).

So the other night,
I told her she had to potty
before
she got in the bath.
'Cause I hate getting them out
all dripping wet
to use the potty.

So she sat down
and tried...

and tried...

nothing.

"Mommy,
I don't have any potty."

"Yes, Hannah.
You need to go potty.
As soon as you get in the bath
you are going to need to go
so just go now."

"But Mommy,
I am trying and the potty
won't come out."

"Hannah,
Just try."

(grunts)

(groans)

(thinking to myself, it's pottying, shouldn't involve grunts, but WE...I said dramatic, remember?)

"Hannah,
Are you done?"

"Mommy,
(in defeat and sounding almost pathetic)
My batteries are broken.
The potty won't come out."

These girls

...
are loved more than anything in this world.

No matter what the day
throws my way,
no matter the hecticness
of my life
or theirs.

Their smiles are infectious.

Their laughter enchanting.

The intensity in their eyes mesmerizing.
These girls are my axis;

my center of gravity.

Many many love and kisses,
~mommy

Why can't she be like this every morning???

{screaming in the background}
{more screaming in the background}
{I think I am waking up, but not really sure}

"Mama.
Mama."

"There's Mommy, Hannah.
She's right there."

{eyes slowly opening}

(we'll skip forward through the diaper change)

"Hannah, Here's sissy.
I Love You. Do you love sissy?"

{silence}

"We're having a love party"

{Laying in bed with the two girls, smiling at the thought that my four year old just said we were having a love party. Couldn't possibly start the day any better.}

My Pre-K'er

Monday was Hailey's first "Official" day of Pre-K.
That meant uniforms.
Too friggin cute.

Unfortunately, at this point she was very mad at me and wouldn't smile.
This is the most accurate of early morning looks though.

Splash Pad Fun

Since Katy and I have sworn this place off, here are the last pics of this place ever to be seen.
And it took quite a bit of searching to find ones where my kids weren't crying.
Pictures can be so deceiving.

Our trip to Houston (in photos)

So, unfortunately, there aren't really any pics of us with the folks we went to visit.
That really stinks 'cause we really had a great time with them.
Good friends, good company.
(Even if I am told I look like I am carrying ;))

So, here are some pics of the girls.

As you can tell they both had a blast.

Thanks guys, for having us.
We can't let so much time go by before the next visit.
XOXOXO
